Shaana comes from a southern family who moved to California when she was just 9 years old. Growing up with musical parents, she was always exposed to various musical genres and loved to sing along to the radio. She didn't realize her real musical potential until after going through a painful separation and divorce in 2009. She began writing songs and learned to play the guitar and soon was performing locally for friends and family. It was then that she fully grew into the singer songwriter that she is.
Shaana is a single mother of two writing and singing in the SF Bay Area. She is a complete culmination of the love and time and efforts of great parents, a life of love and heartache, joy and pain, and imagination alongside reality. She works full time at a local music store as a creative force in the assistance of those musicians who come through on any given day. But outside of work and being a mom, she is an amazing singer/songwriter and her own creativity comes to life either at the end of her favorite pen or in the notes of her favorite guitar.
“I write because it is who I am, and it is everything that I am. My words flow from my heart, my eyes, my ears, and my experience in this life, as beautiful and wrenching and emotional and exhausting as it can be. I am an optimist and a believer in one God who blesses me abundantly even though I am far from deserving. The music I create is from my own life experiences and the personal musings of others. Sadness, happiness, joy, motivation, being in love, heartbreak, loss, laughter, and the lessons learned in humility are all great material. I seek to use my writing as an outlet for my own emotions as well as those of others who maybe cannot express it otherwise.”
Shaana's music is a culmination of the love, joy, pain, and scenes from her own life. She writes from the heart and puts together beautiful melodies that seem to touch all those around her.

What is Grumsling?
The Grumsling is a force of mischief. A trickster. He is a force of darkness, but not evil. In fact, the Grumsling denies any division of the world into good and evil and only sees the world in degrees of chaos and fun. Some say the Grumsling is a herald of the coming of an ancient dark god…but that is too long of a tale to be told now.
The Grumsling lives in a shadow dimension and only emerges to disrupt anything or anyone who is too serious, and to give itself a chuckle. You’ve met the Grumsling yourself. When you’re in a hurry somewhere and you slip on your own feet it’s the Grumsling tripping you and rolling around laughing. When you’re working on an important project and the computer just freezes up at the most inopportune moment, it’s the Grumsling who freezes your computer and laughs while you cry. When you want your child to just go to sleep it’s the Grumsling jumping on the bed with them. And if you yourself have done something like this to give yourself a laugh, it’s the Grumsling sitting on your shoulder suggesting you do it.
The members of the band that tells the story of the Grumsling are:
Carl Flynn - Guitar, Vocals
D.J. Lowe - Keys, Vocals
Matt Lowe - Bass Guitar, Vocals
Dominic Rodriguez - Drums, Vocals
The human instrument-players of Grumsling recorded their first demo/EP Full Coverage in early 2014. They just finished recording another EP A Church, On a Boat, In the Sea in December of 2014. Since the beginning they have been playing shows around the San Francisco Bay Area and feverishly working on new material and show experiences. They have been charged with introducing the Grumsling to the people of planet Earth.

JOHN MAXWELL BIOGRAPHY
A 1971 concert by B.B. King in Chicago set John on the path to study the guitar. At the Old Town School of Folk Music John found Johnny Long, a student of Homesick James, and slide guitar quickly became his passion. Two years in Tulsa led John to adapt his bottleneck slide style to bluegrass and country but blues remained number one thanks to the early years in Chicago. While attending college in St Louis John met blues legends Henry Townsend and Tommy Bankhead and had the opportunity to play with both on stage as well as fronting his own trio, The Auxiliary Blues Band.
The college life of 1974 introduced electric guitar to the mix and John found himself in both rock and jazz bands. In the Great California migration of 1976 most of his St Louis music connections landed in the Bay Area and formed the seminal punk band Eye Protection, sharing the stage with such bands as The Dead Kennedyʼs, Black Flag, The Plasmatics, Jim Carroll, Chris Issac and Silvertone, SVT... How did this happen? What happened to the blues?
After six years of distraction John moved to Minneapolis and joined an R&B band. An opening slot for Charles Gatemouth Brown jogged Johnʼs brain back to his senses and he began to re-focus on acoustic blues and roots music. But the electric sound was to return back in the Bay Area four years later with an ex-bandmate of the San Francisco punk years.
The Sin Eaters “Linoleum Years” was released in ʼ95 and landed a song in “Burn, Hollywood, Burn” which won the Razzie Award as the worst movie of 1998. “Heidelberg Swing” was a slide guitar instrumental backed by the rhythm of a printing press. The long awaited second Sin Eaters CD will be available in 2015.
While the “lost years” of Johnʼs punk experience are not so evident these days the blues have remained and matured. Opening sets for Susan Tedeschi and Roy Rogers have brought John out of the shadows at one time or another. “Blues For Evangeline”, Johnʼs first solo CD was released in January of 2015.

Biography[edit]Growing up in Mill Valley, California, Jaffe learned classical violin when he was five. When he was ten he picked up the guitar to compose his own songs, learning his first chords by watching David Byrne play in the Jonathan Demme /Talking Heads concert film, Stop Making Sense.[1] By happenstance, four years later, Jerry Harrison, keyboardist and guitarist for The Talking Heads, discovered Jaffe at an open-mic showcase.[2]
Harrison was impressed by Jaffe’s songwriting skills and offered to record some of his music. Before entering his junior year in high school, Jaffe recorded 50 acoustic demos in Harrison’s studio in Sausalito, California. During their collaboration, Harrison became a friend and advisor.[3][4]
Jaffe’s band, The Distractions (referencing Elvis Costello’s first backing band, The Attractions), consists of Alex Newell on guitar, Sammie Fischer on bass and Alex Coltharp on drums. They released their five-song EP, Blast Off, in 2015. Former Uptones co-founders Eric Din and Paul Jackson played guitar and keyboards respectively on the recording. Matthew King Kaufman produced four of the songs on the release. Coincidentally, Kaufman, formerly of Beserkley Records, co-produced the seminal The Modern Lovers album in 1976—Jerry Harrison is a founding member of The Modern Lovers.[5]
In 2013 Jaffe entered Yale University, but left school a year-and-a-half later to continue to pursue music.[6] While touring to support the EP, the band has opened forMavis Staples and The Damnwells. The band embarked on its first extensive U.S. tour in 2015, opening for Blues Traveler.[7]
Jaffe is a believer in playing live for an audience, saying, “There are a lot of people who use computers and triggered piano or percussion parts. ...Personally I’m a huge believer in everything that the audience is hearing coming directly from the people on stage.”[8]

THE THEORY: Since the northern California group’s formation in 2015, The Theory has quickly etched its unique sound into the Bay Area’s music scene and shows no signs of slowing down. The eclectically influenced blues/rock band will inspire nostalgia, yet catch your ear with its originality and energy. From Dell Parker's soulful vocals and Zach Norman's crying guitar lines and harmonies to John Hendricks' grooving drums and Dillon Gradl's thumping bass, The Theory’s sound has been compared to that of The Black Keys, John Mayer, Blues Traveler and Monophonics.
EMK:
Legendary Marin guitarist Em K began playing guitar at age seven. He honed
his craft when it was considered cool to be a lead rock guitar player, and
incorporating the outrageous into his performance came naturally. After
years on the rock music scene, Em K decided to play solo guitar and
began playing classical pieces, but with a distinctive rock-inspired
approach. Paying homage to his rock roots, he also performs some of that
genre's most popular songs, which have been classically transcribed. The
dynamic rocker fuses the beauty of classical with the raw energy of rock,
resulting in an enchanting and uniquely personal sound. If you think Led
Zeppelin doesn't blend with Tarrega, that blues licks have no place in
classical music, you need only listen to the exciting guitar sound of Em
K.
Em K has performed around the Bay Area at festivals (Union Street, San
Anselmo Art & Design, Spice of Life), wineries, restaurants, coffee
houses, private events, and concerts. He is also a regular performer at
the Farmer's Markets and entertains at retirement homes and assisted
living facilities around the Bay Area. Currently, he receives air time on
KFOG's Acoustic Sunrise program. Em K's music and delivery style are
appreciated by audiences of all ages.
