The Palm Gardens Blues Band Live At the Cafe International Slide Show Mouse over photo
The Palm Gardens Blues Band was founded in 1982 by bassist Al Amis and guitarist David Wharton in San Francisco's Mission district, and they have been playing together ever since.
Their direction from the start was to develop a blues band that reflected the spirit of "The City". Not just covering Chicago, Memphis, Or Texas blues standards, their sound is more reminiscent of New Orleans style "good time'n" blues and R and B. Strong, engaging vocals mingling with trumpet and guitar solos and a solid rhythm section combine to deliver a very unique and fun show. The band members are Al Amis-bass, Steve Carvalho-trumpet/sax, Jim Davidson/guitar, Frank Nault-drums, and David Wharton-guitar/vocals and Squid B Vicious lead guitar. The band has played countless local venues including the Mabuhay Gardens, The Saloon, Decateur St., and The Union Hotel as well as many wineries, festivals, and corporate/private functions. Always with return invitations, and always bringing a good time! For booking information call - (415) 235-9393 or email bayareabeattv@gmail.com |
